Norman M. Spivak graduated magna cum laude studying Neuroscience at UCLA. He joined the Kuhn Lab in 2019 and works closely with his mentors Dr. Alexander Bystritsky, MD and Dr. Martin Monti, PhD developing transcranial focused ultrasound as a potential therapy for coma, epilepsy, and anxiety patients. He was awarded the prestigious 2022 New Investigator's Award at from the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology (ASCP).

 

He is fascinated by the application of neuromodulation in neuropsychiatric disorders. Norman is now a medical student pursuing an MD-PhD at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine's Medical Scientist Training Program (DGSOM-MSTP) with projects focused on transcranial focused ultrasound.
